Singer-songwriter and Nashville recording artist, Mondo Mariscal, never dreamt his part-time hobby would become a full-time career. What began as something he enjoyed sharing with friends has led to more than 250 performances a year.

Throughout his childhood, music was woven into every fiber of his being. Raised in a home where music was always in the background, Mondo’s early influences were through his family’s vast musical tastes, which ranged from classic country to disco, funk, and R & B. Songs by Merle Haggard, Hank Williams, Jr., Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, Rick James, and Earth, Wind & Fire played endlessly on the turntable.

Mondo began playing guitar at age 12, just for fun, on a guitar his grandfather, a skilled carpenter and craftsman, handmade. He spent countless hours learning to play his favorite songs he heard on the radio, never imagining one day his own music would be streamed over the airwaves.

After watching his friends play in bands throughout high school and college, and witnessing the energy and excitement that came with performing live, Mondo realized becoming a performing artist was something he too wanted to pursue. It wasn’t until his mid-twenties that he got serious about playing and singing, and joined a local blues band as the frontman. Mondo’s early performances included blues covers, country, and rock originals about his life experiences. He also honed his skills performing with his church worship band, which kept him grounded in his faith and family.

Today, Mondo’s music can be described as California Country, and has solidified this Northern California award-winning artist as a formidable country star. He has shared the stage with major recording artists Luke Combs, Clay Walker, Easton Corbin, Wade Hayes, Runaway June, Josh Gracin, Coffey Anderson, and Kellie Pickler, and has been a featured artist at iconic Nashville venues The Bluebird Café, Honky Tonk Central, and Tootsies. Honored with local awards for best singer- songwriter, best live band, and local NASH NEXT winner for hometown station KAT Country 103.3, he has equally impressive product endorsements with Clayton custom picks, Nicola strings, and Joe Hassan’s western wear.

Mondo’s set list is a dynamic and entertaining range of country originals and covers, classic rock hits, and current pop radio spins. He has a unique talent for singing smooth ballads, and polishing the rough edges of hardcore country. Described by his fans as the Baritone Balladeer, Mondo loves to interact with the audience and croon the crowd with his Gibson Hummingbird guitar and iconic red Shure 55 limited edition microphone. No matter how far from home he performs, Mondo’s presence and connection with the audience leaves them with the feeling he’s from their hometown. Whether performing at an outdoor festival, honky-tonk bar, winery, or corporate event, his melodic vocals and rhythmic acoustic guitar playing style creates the ambiance of a private concert, setting him apart from other artists.
